Responsible for ensuring that our competitive edge stays sharp, our in-house estimating team of David Poyntz and Michael Tobin are always involved in a huge variety of tendering projects. Industrial, commercial and retail projects are all undertaken, with our design team often pre-designing details at tender stage to ensure that our understanding of the project is comprehensive and our quotations are always reliable and realistic.

Estimator Michael Tobin explains the company ethos in maintaining not just our order book, but also our reputation; " We consider every enquiry we receive as a potential order, and devote the same time and attention to providing tenders which offer value for money whilst maintaining our policy of careful, practical design, regardless of project size or geographical location. Sometimes, when financial pressures on the project are tight, we can suggest alternative solutions which can offer considerable savings for our clients. Even so, we would much rather respectfully decline a project if we felt the financial restraints did not allow us to provide a first-class service, rather than compromise on design, or quality. Fortunately however, this is a fairly rare occurance".

As with all our departments, tendering and estimating has benefitted from considerable investment in the latest developments in computerisation. All enquiries are handled using the Causeway Presitge Estimating Suite, which has further enhanced our ability to service our clients needs. Senior Estimator David Poyntz has been preparing tender documents for Gale Construction for 27 years, and considers the investment in this technology to have taken the important process of competitive, accurate tender to new heights of efficiency; "We always try to go that extra mile for our clients when tendering for projects", says David.
